Local sports and education continued on a rebound after enduring the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic in the previous two years. As the curtain comes down in the year 2022, CSPRO Academy traces the highs and lows of different sporting, educational, and life codes.
Football trials and the F6 Chitungwiza Youth Development League
A successful trial period led to the assembling of a solid unit of CSPRO youths who participated in the F6 Chitungwiza Youth Development League. This league was created for football academies operating within the Chitungwiza Township in order to provide a competitive platform for the local youths. It was also meant to support and nurture our youths as well as help each other fight the obstacles and problems in our ghetto community. These include drug and substance abuse and/or other social ills. CSPRO Academy’s U16 team was crowned the champions in their respective age group as they only tasted defeat twice in fourteen outings. Teams that participated in the F6 League included CSPRO, Dreamers, Dynasty, Legal Lions, MC99, Ramah, Zengeza Busters, and Marisa.
Education
CSPRO Academy thrives to provide high-quality education for the youths on-and-off the field of play. We give a more bespoke and unique opportunity for young people to continue their education in both further and higher education. We thrive in a professional learning environment (Seke 1 High School) so as to offer higher-level teaching and learning. CSPRO Academy has been offering high-level teaching and learning with an outstanding working technical team that gives the boys a very unique and stimulating enrichment program where learners can represent CSPRO Academy in life skills and football, that is, on and off the pitch.
Partnerships
CSPRO Academy has been partnering with a number of stakeholders locally and around the globe to make our goals, mission, values, and philosophy a success. Recently, the Founder and/or the President of the Academy Mr. C Nhamoinesu was at the Czech Republic Adidas Headquarters and received a special Christmas gift for the youths with over fifty (50) football boots. He received this precious gift from the Sports Marketing Manager of the company (Michaela Halasova). We are truly grateful to Adidas and AC Sparta Praha for supporting the development of education and football talents among the ghetto youths here in Zimbabwe and we hope for a continuation of such collaborations.
To elucidate further, we are also part of the Sustainable Sports Foundation (SSF) which is based in the United States of America (USA). SSF is a youth-sport non-profit organization founded to “empower youth athletes with skills for life, play, and their future”. SSF leverages sport to coach, mentor, and educate youth players and football (soccer) is part of the many sports involved so far. The vision is to develop a sustainable future for societal and environmental challenges in the world today. It is our joy to be part of this initiative through SSF to make the youths locally become leaders that the world needs in the near future.
Lastly, we thank the generosity and continued love that does exist between the academy and Seke 1 High School, it is a place we now call home. We used the school’s premises over the year for training, matches, and all other extra-curricular activities. We have now an increased number of boys that have been enrolled to start school next year in addition to those who are currently learning at this institution. We had three of our boys who wrote their final Zimsec Ordinary Level examinations and we wish them nothing but the best, we hope the boys continue to raise both our flags higher up in the air. CSPRO Academy and Seke 1 High School would like to continue to motivate and inspire the ghetto youths in the community, prove that the sky is the limit and for them to be part of this amazing family while linking education and football together to create sustainability in their future endeavors.
Manager
One of the most unfortunate and sad moments of the year was the passing of our beloved Manager Mr. T. Mguni. You might be gone but never forgotten by your family (CSPRO Academy). As an academy, we appreciate the good work that you did for us from the inception of the academy. You worked hard for us and made everything simple through your perseverance and determination and you were a role model to many of us and the ghetto youths and you did it with distinction. From us and the boys we say thank you, Manager, thank you “Trevito”. Your legacy will live on with us forever and may your dear Soul Rest in Peace.
